Powers of Attorney and Advance Health-Care Directives are documents that provide a trusted individual with authority to make decisions for an individual who is unable to make financial or health-care decisions for him or herself. These documents are powerful planning tools that every individual should have, regardless of whether they are currently disabled. Guardianships and Conservatorships often become useful or necessary when an individual’s inability to make decisions is expected to be long-term or life-long. This workshop is geared towards family members of disabled individuals and peers who want to better understand their options for ensuring proper assistance with decision-making over a lifetime.
